Year in review

2008 will go down as a very memorable year for myself regarding the outdoors. Thought I’d post a few pics highlighting some of the seasons.

The first is from my April turkey hunt…yes, that snowy picture was taken opening day of our season (near Detroit Lakes, MN). We got slammed by 17 inches of snow and 30 mph winds. Note the absense of birds in the photo.

The next two pics are from the full moon period of July – pulling cranks on Pokegama Lake near Grand Rapids. What a sunset, eh? The ‘eye was my summer’s best (a very fat 27″).

Then it’s on to duck hunting. This was the first year for my Brittish Lab, Bella. Opening day treated us well.

The elk is from my trip to Idaho. First time out there, and Lord willing, it won’t be my last. Amazing trip.

Finally, there’s a photo of the 8 pointer I grunted in on the second day of the firearm season.

What a year. The freezer is full, and I can’t wait to see what 2009 has in store.

Nice job, dragger. It’s fun to see the success in the different settings and game.
