Sorry to have to post this here, but everytime I try to go to idofishing.com I get an godaddy.com screen . Anyone know if they are having problems with the site or any likely solutions to what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

balexander667Posts: 57January 6, 2009 at 4:44 am #46258I sent a message to the field staff team in regard to this issue. Someone will get back to you soon. BTW – the fishing site is working fine for me.
January 6, 2009 at 4:53 am #46259The sites are working fine. We were down for about an hour an a half on sunday. Thankfully we got everything back up and running. The issue now is that some users are hitting cached pages that were stored during that down time. During that down time people were being sent to godaddy.com.
The solution is to purge that stored or cached page from your computer and force your browser to look for a new page.
To do this I would suggest the following:
Close ALL windows. Open a new browser session by clicking on your windows icon. Forgive me for assuming that nearly everyone is using Windows Explorer.
At the top of your browser along your toolbar you’ll see a set of dropdowns.
From left to right they read “File – Edit – View – Favorites – Tools – Help”
Click on “Tools.”
Then “Internet Options.”
You’ll want to delete your “Temporary Internet Files.”
Close Windows Explorer.
Restart your machine.
You should be able to access idofishing.com without issue after you’ve completed these steps.
Let me know if you continue to have issues.

eyeguide,
don’t feel like your the only one…I have the same issue here in Prairie du Chien..I can view anything that has to do with the hunting side, but nothing on the fishing side…I had a call from another member here in Prairie that has the same issue…I’ll try working closely with James to get this issue cleared up…
January 6, 2009 at 2:45 pm #46264James,
Thanks for the ideas, but I have tried it three times and I still cannot get back on the site. The godaddy.com thing keeps popping up. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
January 6, 2009 at 3:54 pm #46268That’s really all we can do. The network needs to update the DNS record. Most do it hourly, Some take as long as a week. Those systems are completely automated and run on a scheduler so there’s no human intervention.MCHSI (My ISP) is one of the slow ones the last time something like this
happened. Your only “fix it today” option would be to call them and tell them to force update the DNS record for idofishing.com Some ISP’s will do it. Some won’t.bradgPosts: 507January 6, 2009 at 4:01 pm #46269I am now having problems too….But its wierd for me.. I was in IDOFISHING watching an episode of the TV show. When I finished I tried to use the IDO back button above the video post and it took me to the GODADDY page….Just odd since my machine has been letting me view the site ever since the original problem happened on Sunday…I have erased all my cookies, history, site bookmark and temp internet files and restarted my machine after all that and still nothing…I will have to try it again….
January 6, 2009 at 4:21 pm #46270Thanks ecnook,
Looks like I’m screwed than seeeing as I have MCHSI as well! I’ll just have to keep trying until I can get back. Looks like a long few days of work for this guy!

Yep ,

And here I thought James was just picking on me again !!
January 6, 2009 at 7:00 pm #46274Have any of you guys tried using the NSLOOKUP command from a DOS prompt to see what IP IDOFISHING.COM returns vs. GODADDY.COM??
Have you tried the ipconfig /flushdns command from a DOS prompt? May not help if you the addressed is cached in a local router/access point.
Good luck, hope to see you all back there soon.
January 7, 2009 at 2:32 am #46275I couldn’t get on either site most of the afternoon, until about 20 minutes ago, when I troubleshot, it said that it’s ping was not being pinged back by the domain, I didn’t even get the GoDaddy screen ???? All other sites worked fine… maybe some surprise maintenance.

January 7, 2009 at 4:30 am #46283I sent James an email today asking what happened, here was his reply at 6:21PM…………

The entire network backbone out of HBCi in Winona is down. Our
servers are on that backbone. Tech support is working on it and
everything should be back up and running later tonight. Or so they
tell me.
January 7, 2009 at 10:24 pm #46324Thanks to all for their suggestions!
It finally works again, and looks like James and ecnook were right and it just had to reset itself. Finally something to do at work!
