Ok Guys can someone who knows tell us all how serious this idea of ammunition coding being proposed is…..
Click HERE to see the details of SB1200.. Is this thing still carrying steam and what does it mean for us? Am I reading it correctly and getting that possessing any uncoded ammo after 1-1-2011 will be illegal? If that is the case what about the guys that have thousands of rounds in their arsenal….will these guys be criminals?

    WHO KNOWS WHAT……….

Kind of scary isn’t it? And here we thought the change would be cheaper taxes (another 850 BILLION soon to be spent!) and a strong economy, lol.

Want to know how well these “programs” work? Look to New York and see how well their pre sale ballistics recordings worked. They spent 7 MILLION dollars since inception and it hasn’t been able to be used to make one single conviction in a gun crime! SEVEN MILLION $$ spent and ZERO results!

More proof? Just look to Washington D.C. and tell me how their gun ban is working. Guns have been illegal there for decades and yet they still have gun crime and host the highest percentage of crime.

More proof? Murder has been outlawed for, well, a long time. Yet it happens everyday. Two things you cannot legislate. One is responsibility and the other is good behavior. All the “programs” in the world will do nothing more than cost us more money to host the same crimes.

If people want to defeat this type of asinine law making then they need to learn to vote. Period.

I agree wholeheartedly about people voting….too bad it is too late…the election has come and gone and our elected officials have been chosen….

What I don’t like is the fact that if this were to pass that it punishes the honest person in hopes of linking criminals to crimes…Which linking criminals to crimes is a great idea…But honestly tell me what criminal, who is going to commit a pre-meditated crime and fire a gun, is going to use ammo that is coded…DUH…COME ON PEOPLE. Further…any criminal that does have coded ammo will surely remove the markings prior to using. A tax on each bullet to fund the program….I don’t like the sounds of that at all…..
But like I asked what about the guys with huge stashes of ammo in their basesments..I think i saw BrianK in classified thread selling some dies that he has over 7000 rounds of one cartridge loaded up and ready to go…..Gonna be busy at the range if people have to use all that up before 2011…..

Check out this excerpt from a website dedicated to coding ammo.. This is from the FAQ page…. HERE IS THE LINK

Also here is the Q and A that I found amusing…..
Q.Can the ACS technology be circumvented?
A.Not easily. It would require considerable skill and knowledge for a criminal to circumvent the ACS technology. A person with the right knowledge, skill and equipment could cast and load their own ammunition. Similarly, a person could disassemble a coded bullet, file off the ACS codes and reassemble the component parts. However, criminals are not known for their advance planning skills. As an example, fingerprint technology is easy to defeat simply by wearing gloves, but that does not mean the police no longer dust for fingerprints at crime scenes. Most criminals don’t wear gloves; similarly most will not take the time nor do they have the knowledge or equipment to defeat ACS.

Good news..it appears that MOST criminals are not smart enough to get around this….SO the ones that don’t know about it are going to be caught, and the ones that aren’t smart enough are just going to not commit crimes because they don’t know how to get around it……. IDIOTS… IMO

Bottom line to me is that Criminals with still commit crimes…. they will find a way around it somehow….I would expect to see a spike in crimes using shotguns and knives if something like this should ever pass………..

I’m betting the reloaders of the world are stocking up on bullets like crazy right now. I know I would be.

When are WE going to stand up to our government?? They are not doing the things the majority want. They are doing what they want. Will we see another revolution in our lifetime??

Even reloads are going to be subject to this.

Hopefully it never passes in any state and nobody has to worry about it…..I know lots of people are stocking up on ammo just to circumvent price increases…But makes a person a bit leary…..OBVIOUSLY not every reloader is going to just destroy their loads in order to comply with this type of garbage…….
