This site is such a great resource, I’ll see if you guys can help me locate what I’m after. I simply want a set of see thru rings for my Marlin Express .308 MXLR. I know it shouldn’t make a difference but every time I see a silver scope with black hardware, I wonder how they dress their children! I thought I was going to catch a break by putting some silver Leupold see thrus on the mount but the cross bar blocks my view to the iron sights. So, it appears that I must have see thru’s designed for Marlin 336, that mount without a base. They’re easy to find and you can get them in any color you desire…..so long as that color is black! Does anyone in this world do any custom work through which I could have this made for me? I’ve talked to some retailers that have stated they get a few requests for silver see thru’s but are nearly impossible to find. Well, I’ve seen the members here beat the impossible before so I’m giving it a try. Does anyone know where I can find a set of silver see thru rings that would mount on a Marlin 336/1894/1895, custom or factory? Thanks!

Appreciate it Chris but they too do not have what I need. They have 336 see thru mounts but not available in anything but “blue”. The Marlin is set up in a way that negates using a mounted base in combination with any style see thru product. The crossbar that fits through the set grooves for tightening the rings blocks the view to the iron sites. Appreciate the help bud but I’m wondering if I need to find someone who does custom work. Outside of any ring makers willing to produce 336 see thru’s in silver, I’m beginning to think custom work is my only option if I’m going to have see thru mounts.

Right now, I’ve got regular silver mounts and she shoots like a dream so I’m not wrecked by any means but I’m desiring more versatility since any shot over 200yds. just isn’t available in my area. Dial the scope for 100+/-yd shots and irons for 25yd and closer encounters.

Thanks again Chris and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
