My dad raises pheasants in central SD. He has had some issues with varmints at night and would like to get a trail camera to capture would be “burglars”. He doesn’t have much of a budget, so any recommendations for an entry level type price with good features?? What should I be looking for in options? Please help educate me. Thanks!!

    Why not just trap them?

He does a bunch, but he’s curious if he’s missing anything. There are also times where something will get into a pen and wreak all kinds of havoc. He never catches it and wonders what caused the problem.

    Kooty,
I bought a Moultrie GameSpy camera last fall. I got it at Walmart for under 100.00. Its a 2.0 mega pixel camera. Its very easy to use. I also bought 2 – 1 gig SD cards off the internet for about 10.00 a piece.

Just be sure to get a digital camera. It’s worth the extra money.

Kooty, have him check Sam’s Club. I bought 3 Wildview 5MP cameras from them for $88 each. They each came with a 1G card and Enegizer batteries. The MSRP on the Wildview website is $150 and that’s without the card and batteries.

I agree with Steve. I have a few of those gamespy 4.0. Great cameras for the price.
