I’ve fished down there when it’s been in the low 30’s. how the heck do you fish when it’s 10? how do you keep the line guides open?

Same as when you are ice fishing. Instead of sitting on a bucket I sit on a boat seat. Seriously, vertical jigging isnt so bad but when you start pitching jigs the guids tend to ice up fast. Using mono is a must because superlines ice up bad!!!

Martin and I were there yesterday and fished from about 3:00 until 5:00. Caught about a dozen saugers and a few walleyes (kept 4) I don’t know how I got away with it but I was pitching a bladebait with fireline and really didn’t have ice problems The lack of wind is what made it bearable to be out there.

I was just out getting the boat ready and thinking how nice its going to be fishing without wind!!!!!! I can stay warm in almost any temp as long as there is no wind. DD do you care to share any details about where you were fishing and what worked best? I plan on vert jigging till dusk then pitching for bigger walleyes. I think the west shore up by the dam and the 2nd wing dam might be the place to start.

We were on the Wisconsin side fishing around the sandbar with the tree sticking out (TOP SECRET PLACE)
Most of the fish came out of 18′ more or less and almost all of them came on blade baits. I had real good luck with purple and black 1/4 ounce cicadas. A few came on a deadstick ringworm set-up including a nice 17.5″ sauger. We started dragging; but after the shaft on the electric froze up we had to anchor. Didn’t matter still caught fish. Good luck sir!

Hope he got close to it for the shot. It doesn’t seem right when guys make 300+ yard shots with rifles.

Heck for an animal like that I’d knock out a section of roof and wall just so I could do a full body mount
