I am heading down in a bit. I will be at the show Friday-Sunday. Please, everyone, make sure you stop by the MarCum booth and introduce yourself….I have a bad memory.
In addition, Indepth Outdoors will have a booth at the show. Basically, right behind the MarCum booth I hear. James is at the show already. So, make sure you stop by and chat a little.
Sometimes we are out meeting with other manufacturers/retailers but you should be able to hunt us down. Look forward to seeing everyone at the show
I’m going to try and go tonight too, I know enough faces now to recognize some people.
I will be there Saturday and Sunday at Jiffy’s Booth. Stop by and say hi.
I’m going with Ritter as long as he lets us make a few pit stops for sodas on the way
Shane- What is with your new Avitar? Is that the flag of some country in Central America?????

and what a humbling experience. The last time I shot was last december and it was obvious I was out of practice. The course had 40 targets and I thought it was two arrows at each target and twenty targets but wasen’t, it was 40 targets and one arrow only. All the targets were Rienbeck foam targets with some new additions from the last time I shot, a 40 pound carp and a 150 pound alligator. I shot 5 points on the alligator and drilled the carp at a farther distance with 10 points, I like carp but thats rediculos. I’ve forgotten alot since I used to shoot all the time and as it was coming back to me and I started recalling, windage and elevation on sneak shots over hills. A small hill in between the shooter and target and it makes a target look like its 25 yrds and its really 37 yrds.
It was a good course with alot of guys shooting. It opened at 7:00 when we started shooting to beat the heat and by 11:30 400 guys had gone through the course and were shooting it. As we left they were still arriveing as fast as when we got there. Talk about humbling and also fun, it was alot of fun. Lots of guys shooting and practicing patients. Some of the harder targets I scored 10 points on and some of the easier ones I only scored 5, the scoring rings were 10, 8 and 5. Some of the targets had the 10 point circle as big as a 50 cent piece and were at 20 to 35 yrds. Baseball size for the 8 ring and larger sizes for the 5 ring. One of the most obvious problems where I could have gained 50 to 70 more points is that I forgot where and how big the scoring circles were on each individual foam target. After you have forgotten where they were you have to just shoot where you think they may be. I seen some of the folks who used to shoot back on my last course and they are still shooting. Alot of guys, including me, say to really sharpen the pre season bow hunting skills shoot 3-Ds and as many as you can. Shooting targets at set measured distances is really pretty easy, atleast you know the yardages, on a 3-D course you have to shoot by the seat of your pants and guess yardages and thats what the challange is and is best for hunting skills. Most 3-d courses don’t allow range finders, especially IBO qualifying shoots for good reason. You really have to shoot by your pins and where they hit and talk to others who will also talk yardages with you.
They have practice yardages that are measured out, 20,30 and 40 yard practice stakes at most all shoots so you can check your sights and do a little practing befor you shoot the course so thats where you check your shooting skills and pins. Anybody whos never shot a 3-d its alot of fun and very good for your preseason shooting skills and to build up the muscles and everything else involved. Want to find out how good you really are and how many guys bowhunt? go shoot some 3-Ds, thier a blast.
