The other day while walking a nearby woods checking for late mushrooms I seen a doe and a brand new fawn, couldn’t have weighted 12 pounds. The last couple weeks I haven’t seen alot of older does walking around so they must be busy too, now to get a few pictures if I can. The bucks new growth is 4″ to 6″ right now, seen a nice buck that had decent bases too, not huge but nice.

When I see a baby fawn on my hunting grounds I always let the fawn smell me up and down!! Then, I give them a pat on the head and a kiss on the nose. This way when they smell me 4 1/2 years later they know there isn’t any danger! It’s worked more times than I can count.

Another way to make them feel safe is to let them watch you shoot. That should make them feel safe!
