Browning A5 year manufactured?

I just purchased an old Browning A5 Made in Belgium shotgun with some scroll work on the receiver. I have never owned an A5 and I was wondering if anyone had an idea of when it was made. The serial number on the receiver is 1669x and there is an M5 above it.

I would appreciate any information you would have.

On Brownings website they allow you to date just about any gun they’ve ever made. Here’s a link to the A5.

If I,m reading everything correctly your gun was made in 1924 which is the first year of production [always a plus] go to proofhouse.com for conformation.

Thanks for the links. The browning website didn’t have anything on the serial number but proofhouse did. Both good sites to know about.
