pics of ice storm here in eastern Iowa

Heres some pictures of the ice storm that hit here a couple days ago. I didn’t take any of the damage that was done around town, just the one tree and the sunlight showing through. As the sun moved across the horizon it changed the angle or the light and as the day went on it got amazing. We got about 3/8ths on an inch and southern Iowa got an inch of ice that covered everything and theres widespread power outages, they got hit hard. I guess by what I’ve been told on the web that trees are down everywhere and whole smaller towns are without power. Big pole barns are down because of the weight of the ice on the roofs, complete collapses. Still thousands without power.

that sucks!!! hope you got 4 wheel drive i guess that makes hunting a little sketchy!! but you’ll probably be able to hear the deer walking a mile away

The picture with the communications antenna and the truck to the right on the top of the hill,,,right on the top of the hill is four deer running from the guy who got out of the truck. The deer are the dark spots right on the top of the ridge. The deer I have seen are feeding all day and are out in the open, from the ice crust they are having to work for thier food right now, its supposed to warm up early week.

I know i’ll be glad when its gone, can’t even hunt right now.

Hopefully it didn’t hurt the bird population to bad
