I called my cousin to see how his hunting year was going and to see how he did on his trip to North Dakota duck hunting. He said he didn’t make the trip and he was glad he didn’t. I asked why and he said that a guy in there party was field hunting geese and as the birds came in he took his safety off, they were lying flat in a field and when he went to sit up and shoot the gun went off and it blew off his foot. They had to take a 3 hour drive to Bismark in an ambulance. When I heard about it, it just made my stomach turn. I like to think I am a pretty safe hunter but accidents can happen to anyone. It just made me think alot about safety. Keep it safe out there this weekend.
