    I knew there was a reason why I use a bore sighter that you chamber like an actual round, OUCH!

    I watched Myth Busters when they tried to replicate that picture and the most they were able to do was get a small bulge in the barrel. They even shoved the gun barrel into dirt to pack it tight and nothing happened. I also believed they lightly welded something to the end and couldn’t get it to banna peel. After watching that episode I don’t know if I am sold on that picture be truthful.

    I saw that same episode. About all that happened was the barrel would blow out just “upstream” from the obstruction. Some times it would blow out a side of the barrel. Other times the barrel would just blow off right at the obstruction.
