I’m looking for suggestions for any needed forums. Trapping? Bow hunting? Or are we good where we sit now?

November 6, 2007 at 2:47 pm #15648Maybe a big game forum, like Elk, Moose, Caribou ?

Love the new site !!!
November 6, 2007 at 2:47 pm #15649I personally think it is pretty good, but a few that may be needed are Trapping, Archery, and Hunting Gear Forum and what G said. A Big Game Forum or seperate ones for all 3 of those.
November 6, 2007 at 2:51 pm #15651We’re going to be adding a new member photo section where members can create their own albums. Part of that photo album will be a trophy room as well as a permanent home for all the trail cam photos and deer contest photos.
We hadn’t anticipated the popularity of the trail cam threads and we’ve run into problems when the threads have exceeded 20 pages and hundreds of photos. It is a good problem to have but obviously we need to do some thing a little different when the threads are getting so long and “file heavy” that the threads won’t load… even on broadband connections.
Thanks for the suggestion. We’re going to provide that type of feature.
November 6, 2007 at 4:15 pm #15188Anway to link the pm’s together between this and the fishing site?

That’s in the works. IT is going to be a HUGE undertaking but our goal is to link the sites together so posts can be easily transfered back and forth and the PM system will allow guys to talk back and forth between any ido site.
So the short answer is “not yet.”
Long… “we’ll make that happen. ”

Sounds like a plan. Keep up the good work!!
November 6, 2007 at 4:42 pm #15193This may not be the proper forum but, I think next year we give more points for bucks dropped with bows. The idea that a guy can throw some lead in the air and score the same as a guy who sneaks right up in his face, seems uneven.
I prolly wont get one this year anyways, just a thought…
November 6, 2007 at 4:50 pm #15194Oh, boy here come the gunners. Bow hunters get 3 1/2 months….. they get less than 1 month. I don’t think it will get far, though I agree, I take alot more pride in a bow kill…

Not to get off topic but YA!
November 6, 2007 at 5:35 pm #15212I forgot to say that I would also like it if they was a bow hunting forum.
November 7, 2007 at 12:21 am #15551A hand gun forum.
A forum where all the WI guys can complain about their governor. (kidding!)
I have a…well 1.5 sponsors lined up for an ATV/sled forum. It’s in the works…although James doesn’t know it yet.
The paperwork should be done by next week…then it’s up to the Great and Powerful Oz to create it.
November 7, 2007 at 12:55 am #15557I don’t know about up North, about around here mushroom “hunting” is popular. Collecting antler sheds is also pretty popular, but I don’t know if either of these would require a separate forum. ???
November 9, 2007 at 8:05 pm #14703I agree with the Mushroom hunting, it’s the one hunting season my wife goes with me!!!!

November 9, 2007 at 8:33 pm #14706I may have to disagree with some here.
I personally don’t like to have so many different forums. It makes it hard to search for the things you want if it is not in the forum you think it is.
An example is MNFishing. I have a horrible time navigating around and finding anything there. Too many sub forums of subforums. Not very user friendly. I just counted, they have 109 forums on the first page
I say keep them the way they are now, and modify slowly as and if a need arises. I love the idea of a trapping or a mushroom forum, but either would get very little use for 11 months of the year. I think they would be easier to find in the general forum, or in a misc/seasonal forum.
Just my $.02.
