Well it is a long story, but after hunting the same state land for 20+ years we are getting sqeezed off of it, it was a prime location, always got deer.

Some one bought the 40 acres next to it a couple of years a go, and for the most part left us alone, well they got tired of us shooting deer and moved into the area we hunt , they are serios hunters walk out a 7 am, beer cans under the stand, running 4 wheelere all over, smoking on the stand, I wonder why they dont get anything

Also alot of party got to old to hunt, so I am starting over with my 2 boys, it is to dangerous to be next to them

So how do some of you approach finding a new area to hunt I dont want to be a$$ and do the same to some one else.

By the way I did call the DNR but they did nothing

Sorry to hear that. My dad and I are going through the same kind of thing now. Our neihbors (they rent) run 4 wheelers all over any time of the day. I could go on for pages about the stupid things they do. We tried talking to them after thay were shooting 22’s in our direction during deer season. (they do not hunt) After about 9 months we finnally got an officer that understood us and told them at no time are they allowed to shoot EVER. That was a big improvement…….but onto your question. Where are you looking to hunt. The metro has its problems but if you are around there are lots of people who are sick and tired of deer. I have permission for 3 areas that total 450 acres. BUt I rarely get out enough to make it worth it. Good luck but just ask around for farmers and offer them some of the harvest. I have found many people get sick of sloppy people so sometimes you need to help out a farmer once in a while to get permission.

We had been hunting north of Big Sandy Lake

So now I am open to most any where in Zone 1

I saw that too but then realized one is standing well behind the other.

Get a county plot map and look for county tax land and go from there. We did this 15 years ago and found some land and have never left. We built permanent stands (even though now Crow Wing County has a mandatory portable stand only regulation… ) that show other people that a party hunts that area and rarely have problems. LOTS of land out there. Just find an area next October that doesn’t have stands and you will be good to go…RR
