Anyone have some info. about North Dakota. We are headed to Foreman, ND on Saturday to chase ducks and pheasants. I have never hunted ND, so I have no idea what to expect. Are the sloughs froze? corn out? Anything.

Not sure where it is your going but I was near Jamestown 2 weeks ago. We were starting to get ice on the smaller ponds but would open up during the day, Larger bodies were ice free. Field hunting should be very good when your up there. If you call on a posted field (all fields are suppose to have the owners name on the sign) Call directory service and see if you can locate them. Know your location and field you want to hunt as most of them own 10 thousand acres or more. You should be hitting it just right. Good luck! WW

Bif storm system to come thru this week hi 30’s rain and snow both but projected for 40’s by weekend so it will be muddy, treat teh farmers fields weel and not put too many deep ruts when poutting out decoys and you will probably get permission for some roosters as well, because as said earleir many farmers own MANY acres of land. enjoy and welcome to ND

Knocked on doors for access and had pretty good luck but we rented a rig with ND plates which I think helps a lot. Good luck with your hunt!

October 31, 2006 at 1:08 am #23561Good idea with the North Dakota plates. I have to imagine the sloughs will be freezing up fast. The snow should push more birds into the cattails too.
