August 24, 2006 at 3:38 am #19554Hey everyone, I see alot of great mounts and congrats to you all! This post has got me even more pumped up for the bow opener. These deer are my collection of 20 years of hunting, only three trophies after taking it more seriously after the last few years. The 8pt with the arrow on his antlers is my biggest bow kill. With a ton of luck on my side one particular afternoon in 03 I arrowed this deer at 12 yards walking to my stand. The others are shotgun kills. Thanks for the chance for me to toot my horn, Randy

August 25, 2006 at 4:08 am #19604Thanks guys,Watts and Ripper the bulls came from a pothole near Park Rapids all between 1.2 and 1.4 pounds actually had a line breaker one that had to go 2 lbs. The walleye is from Seagull Lake and went around 29″, Caught it when I was 12 so Pops had it mounted for me and I thank him for that too, good memories. We still visit Seagull at least once a year, great lake for eyes! Hey, Ripper I have to ask if you had your monster scored? That thing is a brute! Bow or firearms?

That is cool. Those Bulls are sweet. Nothing like waiting to get that big eye out of the way. Wow 12 years old, what a memory.
My big guy went 176 5/8″and netted @ 168 7/8″. Missed a Booner by 1 1/8″. I wouldn’t change a thing though. I saw him during rifle and never could get a bead on him, glad I didin’t. Who said there is no 2nd rut???? I had drawn back on him and there were so many does and things in the way, I could not get a clean shot. Then finally two does seperated and his vitals were exposed. I think I yelled at the does to get the #$(% out of the way. Broadside inside 20 yards (15 ) and dropped the hammer on him. He darted and then walked off like nothing happened I started to get that sick feeling until I could see the blood on the ground. He went about 40-50 yards and laid down and was out! You want to talk about the Post shot FEVER. I had it bad
