I have 2 6mm one has a 2 to 7 for deer and for my son the low power for deer works best I think, the other is a tack driver redone floated barrel with a 4 to 12 I use this for deer crows coyotes and cats. If you get too much magnification you get heat waves and distortion hard to find small objects.

You get what you pay for in scopes. In my opinion they really are more important than the gun itself.Think about it for a second. Its probably the number one mistake people make in setting up there firearms.Guys will buy a $600 dollar Aqua View camera or deer cam then turn around and buy a $150 Bushnell for there rifle??The higher end scopes are clearer and have better light gathering capabilities.I like the Leupold VX II also. You buy it once and have it the rest of your life.If you buy the cheapies you end up replacing them and you spend what you could of originally on a good one and you still have junk on your barrel.Same with mounts/rings.Spend the moola!!!! Make that one shot count!!!
