A guy I work with wants to know if you can put a Nikon Buckmaster scope on a black powder rifle without it damaging the scope when you shoot. Also in Wisconsin during the CWD hunting season can you use a scope on a blackpowder gun that is stronger than a 0/1 power? I know during blackpowder season you can not, but during CWD you can use the weapon of your choice. Any info on either/both questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

That scope will work fine on a muzzleloader. I have a couple of the Nikon Buckmaster scopes and believe them to be a great buy for the buck. No idea on Wisconsin game laws though.

You may use a scope on your muzzle loader, with magnification, during any season for rifle or shotgun. The exception to the scope rule is during the Muzzle Loader season when “No magnification is allowed”.

Luckydog nailed it right on the head – I use my Encore when I hunt a shotgun zone with a 3x9x40mm Buckmasters and I am good to go out to 225 yards.
