That is this weekend and next weekend right?
I guess I could check the website out….
Hoping to get up their next weekend, but just have to play it by ear. Always a good time.

August 12, 2005 at 2:42 pm #9256My niece is entering her lab “Kate” into the dog competition. Should be a blast to see a 12 year old work a 1 year old yellow lab! Also I may be looking for a new fishing partner as well!

August 12, 2005 at 5:20 pm #9259Yep, going sat morn. It really is a blast, we bring our dogs, enter them in the fun events. Bring the shotgun, shoot/miss some clays. We usually spend lots of time at the dock jump as my shorthairs love jumping. If you see a shorthair that jumps straight in the air and does the true “doggy” paddle stop and say hi.

August 22, 2005 at 7:51 pm #9321Steve, I think I saw you there on Sunday. I have only seen you in your avatar so I wasn’t sure. My parents live two blocks from the gate and I usually make it in there every day. I just bought a 4 month old lab, so I had fun running her in some of the competitions.
Next year I will have to plan an IDA/Game Fair GTG. My parents have plenty of room and the fridge is always full.

August 22, 2005 at 8:21 pm #9322Yes I was there on Sunday with my daughter Emily and my German Shorthair Abby. We also had fun running her in the competitions. She did fair in the water competitions but she really shined in the pointing event, they give you 3 minuets to strong point three birds. She had a solid point on one bird. The most points by any one dog that day was 2, most dogs had no points and walked right by birds, it was difficult as it was a small fenced in grassy area with 15 birds so there was fresh sent everywhere you went so it was very difficult to pin down 3 birds in three minuets.

August 24, 2005 at 10:21 pm #9358chriss, good point. I know of a couple dogs that got very bad rashes after swimming in Game Fair lake. That was last year and they are fine now. My pup was inside the gates three days and swam a couple times. So far so good.
