Bino slings

I have the neoprene bino sling that holds the binos tight to my chest, but am thinking of switching to the single sling where the binos hang under your arm, but still tight to your body. The chest mount just seems like it would get in the way when drawing the bow. I haven’t had a problem yet, but am always conscious of it. Anybody use the side mount and how did you like it? Is one better than another?

I tried the side sling this spring turkey hunting and HATED it. I would not recommend it to anyone. Kooty, I really like the look of the S4 one.

I’m definitely leaning that way. I want to try one one in a store hopefully first.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the badlands. Also, when I was in the prescribed fire business, a company called Nimrod made a lot of good packs. Last fall I met a guy out in western ND who had their bino harness, put it on and it felt very secure.

Update. Had to send my Zeiss glass back in. The eye cup fell off one side. Which ironically gave me time to rethink my position. I ended up with Leupold Mojave BX3 10×42. I also picked up the S4 Lockdown X system. So far, wearing around the house. It’s OK. I think it will fit a bit better once I get some hunting clothes on. I like how it protects the glass. More testing this weekend at the archery range.

You bet. I wore the Lockdown most of the day Saturday. Activities included ATV rides and shooting the bow. So far, so good. Not sure it’s super comfortable when wearing light T-shirts but I doubt I’ll even notice once I start wearing hunting gear.

I really like how it protects the binos. Easy open/shut. All in all, I’m a thumbs up.

I’ll try to report back after next weekend when I wear it hunting for the first time.
