For the past several years I have been wearing insulated Keen hiking boots as my day to day winter footwear reserving tennis shoes for warmer weather. I have really enjoyed the Keens and they can stand up to some surprising temps. I needed a new pair and Keen no longer makes something I can use, so after trying several brands I went with Ecco Biom 1.3 and they appear to be the best insulated hiker I have ever owned. Way too expensive though. I should have bought them online rather than a store.

Ecco makes good stuff…I bought a pair of their sandles 3 years ago and have worn the heck out of them for the last 3 summers and they still look basically brand new.

I cringed at the time spending the money but looking back….it was well worth it. I would rather spend more for a quality product that lasts than have to replace stuff every couple years.
