Just picked up a new Nikon Prostaff 3. 6x magnification, 600 yard range, water proof, ARC. All for $180.00 at Fleet Farm. I know that there are better ones out there, but for the price, I’ve had pretty decent luck with Nikon. Have yet to try it in the woods, but works well around the office and house.

Nikon rangefinders . I have owned 2, both of them have that stupid little circle to hold the battery in that I can never get locked back in. If I try a butter knife or a quarter it grinds the little plastic tabs right off. Am I missing something? I spent 2 hours last week searching through the leaves underneath the stand where it fell out. Any better ideas than the electrical tape I have on it now? The function and the clarity are great…but without a battery…

I know this is pushing a yr old, but you mention the prostaff 3 was a good buy then I see they have it for around 150. I don’t see anything about it having ARC though. Just wondering if you or otherwise would recommend this one other an different one. Looking to stay under 200
