anyone have any experience with this scope? i’m thinking of “pulling the trigger” on it as it seems like a good value for the pricepoint.

    3.5-14×50 with the BDC reticle
would pair with my Winchester Model 70 .30-06

I have a Nikon Buckmaster which is 1 step higher in Nikons line. To be honest I am not a big fan of mine. I have had many of the Monarch’s and thought they were on of the best scopes for the $. This buckmaster was not clear from day 1. I called and talked with them about it. They said send it in on the off season and they would look. i asked if i could pay to upgrade to the Monarch series and they said no. if bad they would replace it with another one of the same model. After looking at many more of them at retailers i decided they were all rather unclear so not worth the effort to send it in. The gun and scope were a gift so i can not complain. i would not purchase one. With the Prostaff being below the buckmaster in the lineup I would be a little fearful of buying one of those. the last few years I have put several Redfield Revolutions on firearms and i have been real happy with them. i think they are close to the Prostaff scope in price. May want to take a look at those.

    Thanks for the reply.
The Nikon Monarch 3 4-16×50 is only $50 more than the Pro Staff 5, and maybe I can find one on sale after the season.

My buddy got a deal on a bunch of Nikon’s some years back. He bought 5-6 of them. I’ll find out what model they are. He seems very happy with them. He has them mounted on all sorts of rifles.
