Canoe paddles

    Looking to replace another pair of paddles. I never owned plastic, yet I see a lot of people now using them. Pros/cons from those that use them???

    Plastic is great for occasional use. It never rots or requires maintainance.

    But it’s heavy, dead feeling, lacks the correct flex, and can’t be shaped for the individual. I hate paddling any distance with plastic or metal paddles.

    My kayak paddles from cabelas are steel shaft plastic paddles. I can cruise in my beaver tail boats. Haven’t used it in a canoe yet.

    How is the durability. I am just now getting back into duck hunting and using my canoe to get an hour’s ride back into some marshes. Most of it is just cruising along a creek, some of it is pretty shallow crud to get through. The old analogy of up the river without a paddle…

    . I like the plastic paddle with aluminum handles.
