Hi, I just picked up the ruger m77 chambered in .257 Roberts. Gun was manufactured in 1982. Anyone out there with experience with this gun?
I’m planning on hittin’ a few coyotes soon!

Don’t have any experience with that specific Ruger, but just wanted to say that’s a great cartridge choice and I think the Roberts is one of the most under-appreciated chamberings of the last century.

It’s certainly going to whack a coyote, but I think it would really come into its own as a whitetail or pronghorn cartridge.

I noticed that Cabelas brought back a limited edition run of higher-grade Wichester Model 70s in the Roberts last year and they were quickly snapped up. Glad to see there’s still an appreciation for this classic combination.

I plan on getting my wife and daughter comfortable shooting this rifle. Of course one at a time.
My 30-06 and .270 win thump their shoulder too hard!
This fall will be my daughters first youth deer hunt.
    Can’t start to soon.
