Does anyone have any experience with the GoPro action cameras or something similar? I would really like to get some pros and cons before making a purchase.
    Thanks

I know James has some info up on the fishing side if you do a search for it. I’ve played with a couple and I have a GoPro on the bottom of Milwaukee Harbor… long story….
POV cameras are generally super wide angle lenses. Most of the complaints I see/hear are people wanting a perspective of a 50mm to 105mm lens. I don’t know the mm size of the GoPro but the ANGLE of view ranges from 127 to 170 degrees pending the quality settings. So you have nearly a fish-eye view for extreme close up and tight angles. You also need to be careful with the super wide angles because it can distort your perspective if the camera angle is to high or low. If I had the money to replace my camera, i would get another GP for the purpose only of what they are meant for.

Dad runs one (GoPro Hero 3 White Edition) on his guns, head, chest, etc when hunting. Super cool. He is not computer savvy at all and still needs some education on it. But after I edit the files they are really a cool toy.

Well, I think it’s only fair you share some videos…

Go Pro footage is hands down amazing, especially for a $300.00 investment…
