I am looking for a new pair of binos, but I don’t have $300-$500 in the budget for a pair . Is there a decent pair out there for around $200? I have a good spotting scope, so I can manage with a lesser quality pair of binos for this season. Thanks for any help

I’d like at least 10 power but 12×50 would be ideal

Have you considered Ebay? I save myself a lot of money out there.

I was down at cabelas in march looking at Binos myself and the sales associate told me about Redfield. All their Binos, scopes, and range finders are made on the same assembly line as Leupold. Redfield is owned and operated buy Leupold and carries the same the quality for a fraction of the price…I have been extremly happy with my purchase and will be buying from them in them in the future. I bought the rebel 10x42s and man are nice! check them out! http://redfield.com/

I do my research, find out retail and typically I’m buying from out of state so no sales tax and I tend to lean towards free shipping items.

Definitely check your PM from Dennis… I bet he has something resembling a great deal on a quality bino

Thanks G! The Nikon’s I’m trying to get rid of are only 8×36’s.

I’ve got a similar class of Bushnell binocs I picked up at an auction. They are 10×50. For the money, I think they are good.

Another company to consider is Vortex. They are making a lot of noise in the affordable market. I’m looking at one of their Diamondback rifle scopes and I can’t seem to find hardly any negative info.

There were a lot of people looking at them during the opening weekend of the fall sale at Bass Pro in Gurnee (Aug 4-5). If you buy them, make sure you take them out of the box and check the ones your buying. We saw so much inconsistency in all the Nikon binocs. Frustrating for me and the Bass Pro staff. One was great, one was ok, one was a little clearer, one had a blue tint….subtle different, but still inconstancy. We compared them to the Vortex and there was nothing to compare. The Vortex in nearly every size we looked at made nikon look like the bottom of an old coke bottle. BTW – this was taking them outside and viewing objects that were in the 500yrd to 1 mile range away.
