I have a pair of old Sorel boots that I have had for years that are still in very good shape as I have only used them for sitting on stand during cold weather and they do a pretty good job at keeping my feet warm the only thing I do not like about them is that they are very bulky. So I have decided it is time for a new pair, the only thing these boots will be used for is sitting in the deer stand during very cold weather like we get durring muzzleloader season. What boots do you guys like for keeping your feet warm on stand on the real cold days? Do you like boots with a rubber or a leather sole? Anyone have any info on Cablela’s Inferno 2000 Pac Boot?

Steve, I’ve been nothing but toasty warm with my white bunny boots, sure a little bulky but toasty! I also have 1500gram Lacrosse Alpha Burlys. A hand warmer atop my toes, between my liner sock and wool sock, same thing, toasty. Never found a warm packboot for me yet.

I hope the INferno 2000’s are pretty good, I bought some today based on some good recommendations. They sure LOOK warm! But, they are bulky.

I hate trudging around in heavy boots, so I picked a pair of Arctic Shield Boot Covers last year for 40 bucks. Best 40 bucks I’ve spent. They’re lightweight and extremely packable and ended up saving my day on Saturday. Headed out to a piece of public an hour away from my house in the morning. There is a winding trout stream that I have to cross a couple times to get back in there and normally wear my waders but unfortunately, I spaced those out when I left the house around 4AM. No matter, I always wear tall rubber boots when I bowhunt and remembered a spot where I could cross with just those. WRONG. first step down into the stream, feeling around with my foot I found soft bottom, but an old root system that seemed to support my weight. applied more weight and my foot went right through. I immediately felt water seeping down my leg to my toes. around the bend I found a tree that had blown across so I was able to find a dry spot to cross. anyway, it was about 30ยบ and I thought my day was blown with a soaking wet, cold foot. Got into my stand, slipped on the boot covers and threw a hand warmer down it and was fine for the rest of the morning.

I own the Inferno boots from Cabelas. They make great ice fishing and late season boots. I would not want to walk many miles in them as they tend to be a bit “klunky”. They are very warm though.

X2 on the bunny boots and a fraction of the cost.

x 3 I bought the inferno boots last season for ice fishing and was very pleased with how they kept my feet toasty. The way the weather was this season I only wore them twice but they kept me warm. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone for late season hunting!

Thanks for all the tips guys
I did end up going with the Inferno boots from Cabelas, did not have allot of cold days to try them out this year but the days I did wear them on stand my feet were nice & tosty warm and I got them during the employee priceing sale and had a $25 gift card too boot (pun intended ) so I got a very good price on them.
