Hopefully planning on going to Eastern Wyoming on a antelope and mule deer hunt this fall if we draw. Which, seems to be a real good possibility. I need to either make some shooting sticks or possibly buy something. Wheter it be a bi-pod for the gun or just a carry type mono-pod. I have looked at a few in the stores just want to get your opinions or ideas for homemade shooting sticks. Thanks

Primos Trigger Stick gets my vote. I use one in a treestand or on the ground with equal success. They adjust quickly, quietly and are rock solid for shooting. I have the monpod but I’m sure the bi-pod is just as good.

I’ve shot deer and turkeys using mine and won’t go in the woods without it.

There is no chance in the world I would try to build my own. I have 2 different primos mono sticks and they are built very well and will last a long time. The monopod is good but not quite as steady as I hoped for but it’s easy to carry and doubles as a walking stick. I am sure there are other quality pieces out there but I have no experience with them?

I’ve also just bought the primos monopod. Haven’t shot from it much yet though. I feel its like any shooting position. You need to practice it.

I use a Harris swivel bi-pod.One less thing to carry. Also what works well and cheap is 2 thin fiberglass rods held together with a heavy rubberband.
