Bushnell Trophy cam question

About a month ago I picked up a Trophy cam. I think the shutter speed and quality of the pictures are great. Overall, love the camera. But my experience so far is that I am getting a lot of pictures at night that I think are just triggered by grass or leaves moving. I say that becuase I put it out the other day and it was very windy. It took a few pictures of me walking away at 4 in the afternoon but then at night it was triggered over and over with pitures of nothing but the grass swaying. It took so many pitures that the card filled up. I don’t think it is a camera defect where it just took picture after picture for no reason because there were time intervals of 6, 10, or 20 minutes between 3 shot bursts…..so it isn’t like it just took 400 pitures one after the other.

I appreciate any suggestions or thoughts.

Which Model do you have? I have one that is this years model, and it has an adjustment in the settings for the motion sensor sensitivity. I leave mine set to “normal” or “medium” whichever it is called. I haven’t had to much trouble with wind pics at all and I have had mine out for several months. Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the cam too!!!

It is this years model. I set the sensitivity to “Normal” as well. Also tried low but still get way to many. I wonder if it is possible that there are deer walking by that trigger the sensor but the flash range is not going out far enough to catch the deer. This could be the case where I have had the camera on a newly plowed field edge for the last 5 days. I can see a lot of deer tracks in the dirt which is about 30 feet from the cam. The set-up is like this: Camera is mounted to a tree, then there is about 30 feet of tall grass and then the dirt field.

But then I had the same problem 2 weeks ago when i had the camera in a heavily wooded area.

Maybe try different trigger speeds or make sure that there is not something waving around in front of the camera. Mine worked best on normal and rarely had blank pictures unless it was windy enough to move the camera itself. I say “worked” because mine took a crap 10 months after I bought it. I sent it in with hopes that Busnell shoves it up their .

Have you downloaded the new software update for the 2010 Bushnell cameras (199435)? Click this link Trophy Cam Software Update

Then click “product support” and then click “software update”. This may solve some of your issues.
