I just bought one, my cousin had a big buck come last year while using one. You just never know. Happy rattling

Which one are you going to get? The small one is supposed to sound like a couple of 120″ers fighting. The Magnum is supposed to sound like a couple of 160″ers. I have both. I’ve used the smaller one a few times with no luck. The bigger one I took on my Dads MN moose hunt, but never used it.
They are way easier to deal with in a tree than antlers.

This is a new product for me this year and so far I am happy with it. I bought the smaller of the two and it has work successfully several times already this year. I was looking for something small and compact. Something that didn’t sqeek or squel at different times, and something that didn’t cause alot of movement in the tree. This product meets all of those requirements. The only negatives are that you cant do and tree scraping to add extra fighting sound, and it is very easy to ‘over rattle.’ Meaning you can sound a maraka with little effort, ha. Anyways, Id give them a recomendation. Good Luck

Being my first year with them, how long do you twist/grind them together? Any grunts to go along with it?

I usually increase the length of time and volume of noise I make as the pre-rut to peak of the rut progresses. Last week I was rattling in frequently for around a minute/minute 1/2. At this point I was not using grunts. Things should be full go any day now here so I will definatly be adding grunts before my rattling sequences. Also will be rattling with more vigor and noise. So far this year I have had pria the best luck using rattling of any year.
