This morning Thains river was flowing good, the isle ramp area was open, the island resort was wide open and the creek flowing from hunters pt is rippin pretty good.

I would think if we get this 8-12″ their talking about it would speed up the process? That amount of weight would have to sink the ice a little helping it melt? They are also talking 60 by tuesday next week

    bring on the extra moisture!!

Look on the bright side. This will help a little with the lake level!

Yes any rain/snow we can get up there will definitly help. The swamps got filled up last fall so we should have a good flow into the lake this spring

Yep….we are suppose to get abunch of heavy wet snow!!! up to 15+ inches! The creeks are running pretty good and the swamps are holding some water! The melt off from a heavy wet snow storm will help our lake levels!!! I have been watch the MN DNR water level site at Cove Bay…and its been going up…alttle aways!!! It needs to go up around 12-18 inches for me!!! It just started snow here right now!!!

check out the link to the water level site!!!

I need some help……. OK I know, A LOT of help.

I have several GPS ‘s but not one for hunting. With states like SD starting to have their Public Hunting spots laid out and downloadable to GPS kind of like Fishing Maps with Contours, property boundaries, weather overlays, etc. I was thinking about getting into a good GPS for Hunting.

Does anyone have any experience with these units for Hunting? I’m open and all ears to any suggestions experiences good or bad to brands, models etc. Thanks in advance for any input as I know next to nothing on these Hunting models!

I just downloaded Google earth on my Droid and can’t wait to use it in the woods! I will post back if it works well.

Hey Rob, sorry to get back to you so late, but this is what I and a bunch of other people that I hunt with use.

These are really neat where as you can talk to the other person and also get their position where they are, can also send a small text to the other people in the hunting party.
My cousin got the Rhino 130 a few years ago to keep track of where his 14 year old son what at.
I have the 530, love the color display, expandable maping with the micro sd card. I do not put much faith in the compass feature but having the weather radio gives alittle extra comfort. Let me know if any other questions.
I could send you some mapping that I have done with it also. Doug
P.S. these are Not used to help in taking deer. Only used for a saftey of your fellow hunting party.
If you shop around, they have some good deals out there.

I have the Lowrance HuntC…. I pretty much use it as a path tracer… lots of options that I don’t even know how to use, haven’t got lost with it yet
