Anyone own a pair of Leopold binos? Looking for lightweight binos in an 8x or 10x variety, as long as the 10x isn’t drastically more expensive or heavy. Oh, and I still want a good FOV in the 10X.

    Recommendations?

    Thanks,

    Joel

I have a pair of 10×42. Decent glass, nothing like a Swarovski or Alpen IMO. I carry them turkey hunting if that’s what you’re wondering about. Get a shoulder harness so the weight isn’t on your neck and they are fine.

I would also look at the Brand-X ones. I bought a pair of Cabela’s 10×42. I have never owned a pair of Swarovski’s or other high end so I don’t know what I am missing. But the Cabela’s ones are the best pair I have owned to date.

I got a pair of leupold 8×42 almost three years ago and I wouldn’t even consider going in the woods without them. I love them.

Any specifics on model? I’m going to go Wind River or Acadia models I think, am not sure however. Wind Rivers get up there for my price range at the moment.

My friend has a couple pairs of the Leopold Pinnacles. Very nice! They are more expensive then the wind rivers but worthe it in my opinion. Check out the web site samplelist.com they have some good prices. It sounds like you would prefer leopolds but check out the Steiners. I have a pair of 8×30 and I love them. I paid less then $200

I’ve had a pair of WindRiver Wilderness 10×42 for about 10 years and really like them. Bought at Cabelas. The only complaint was the popup eye cups. I used electrical tape to keep them up. Last deer season I fell and snagged a branch with them around my neck and the frame where the strap attaches broke. No issue with the optics just the frame. I contacted Leupold and sent them in. 2 weeks later I got a brand new pair no questions asked. Now that is a nice warranty. Also the new model has the eye cup problem changed. You won’t be sorry with them.
