Hummingbird Ice 35

So I took my hummingbird out yesterday for the first time this year. For some reason it seems like it is not as sensitive as it used to be. Still picks up fish if they swim by. But won’t pick up my jig or even a pike chub when dropping. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Chris

Check these Battery, battery connections make sure you have a good battery and your connections are tight.
Is your Transducer touching the ice? You need to have your transducer centered in your hole.
How are you hanging your ducer? Do you use that second chord to hang the ducer or do you hang it by the transducer cable?
How deep and what cone angle does it have, Dual??

What do you have your gain set on?

All connections are good. Battery is good. I keep the transducer below the bottom of the ice and I always use secondary cord for support. I usually fish anywhere from 10′-30′. I have tweeked every non back and forth. Maybe transducer went bad?

Try setting your 35 on your table and set the transducer 2 ft off the floor. Make sure it’s a hard surface. Turn the unit on and see if it reads 9 ft. Also are you hearing it make click sound like normal? How old is this? For kicks try a different battery if you have one. I know you said it’s good but….

Very first thing I try is taking my fish towel and scrubbing the bottom of the ducer.

My ice 55 did the same thing. Transducer was going out. Got new transducer worked fine.

Tried it. It read 2′. Switched battery and did same thing. It’s about 5 years old. I actually talked to a buddy that does a lot of fishing and he also said the transducer is probably going bad. New transducer in the mail. Thanks for all the help and info. Chris

Take that secondary support cord off of it. That cord holds the transducer slightly out of plumb which makes your transducer read off to the side just a bit .

My 35 looks to be losing sensitivity as well. I’ll try these suggestions, if no change I guess I’ll order a new ducer.

The ducer cables are also pretty fragile. May want to check to see you have no nicks or cuts.
