I have had the helix 10 G4n for a little over a year and never get side imaging anything close to as I am seeing in posts and videos. I have played with contrast, sensitivity and even on clear lakes, I am not getting clear images and definitely not be able to see fish, it usually seems kind of fuzzy. Trying to figure it out, I am looking at my transducer placement. Already did the coin leveling thing. I placed a square on the back and noticed it is out of square left to right about a half inch. This was installed by a marine dealer so I did not notice that till now. I would think that should be square also? Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated

I’m not sure how it could be so out of square unless it got hit or bent. Either or fix that issue first.

Straighten out the transducer then drop it lower. I had better luck with mine deeper in the water. Do you raise the big motor up to Eliminate the shadowing from it? This also helps

Seems pretty obvious that you’ve struck something with the ‘ducer. The whole bracket is bent and there is a bunch of dirt/debris that has collected around the bracket like its sitting in the mud all day. For what its worth it appears that the 2-d transducer is also bent, but that could just be camera angle.

First, straighten everything out like previous replies suggest. The transducer needs to be perpendicular to the direction of travel for the software to process the image correctly. If it were me I would just purchase a new bracket so you know its square rather than trying to gerry-rig that broke-di#k bracket back to square.

Thanks for the replies. I ordered a new bracket so that should help. Should the mega transducer be lower?

Your dealer should have installed it on a transducer mounting board and should have straightened or replaced the bracket. Do it right. Get a mounting board so you can move the ducer around to get the best results without drilling more holes in your transom.

There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to mount the transducer.
