Looking at this unit to put on the console of my 1800 Fisherman. It has SI and DI and was thinking about putting a Helix 5 Sonar GPS on the bow and linking the two together. I like the idea of adding the bow mount one for $299 + the 100 or so for the chip and I can use this ice fishing as a GPS also. The SI/DI unit is 499 + 100 for the chip and the Sonar unit is 299 + 100 for the chip. These prices were from Reed’s at the SF Sports Show. Am I understanding these correct that I can share the SI/DI with the sonar unit if connected? Also, does anyone have any experience with these models? I would like to replace the LX5 on the bow and get a SI/DI unit for the console, but want to keep total cost to around 1000. FYI, I spend most of my time in bow seat. Any comments or thoughts? Thanks

I didn’t think you could link Helix units?

Helix units are stand alone, not capable of linking.

For the price, these units are an absolute bargain.

I plan on getting 3: 1 gps/sonar for bow, 1 DI/SI for console, and 1 gps/sonar for console to keep on gps or sonar, depending what I’m doing. Outfitting a boat with 3 sonars for little over $1000 is amazing!
