I’ve been getting a lot of interference on my Helix 5 Ice. What do I have to change to get it better. I have my sensitivity at 11 and noice filter at high 1, is the only way I can see my bait at 25 feet in not that cloudy of water. Thanks

This must be a gen 1 unit right? I could not wipe out interference from other units with my gen 1 helix so I went back to my flasher. The new g2 chirp units are supposed to be a lot better at getting rid of it. Maybe adjust the cone angle to the narrow beam.

I have had zero problems fishing next to other units with helix 5 gen 2. It is a amazing machine. I had the lowrance elite 5 ice machine for 4 years prior and the helix unit with chirp is so much better!!

Changed to cone angle and works great now. Thanks

before you adjust the noise filter on a g1, try adjusting the surface clutter setting and increasing/decreasing your max depth….make sure you are in advanced mode

The interference can be tough to clear out on g1 units. Mat has some good tips. I am so sick of playing with the settings on the g1 every time someone turns on their unit I am about ready to upgrade. This weekend I was fishing next to a new 7 and he didn’t have one problem.

I have never been able to remove clutter more than about 75% on my G1 5, no matter what I tried. Used mine all weekend next to my FLX28 and buddies Ice-35 (before the motor died) and it did OK. I’ve noticed that the clutter is easier to deal with when not in flasher mode, so I no longer have that screen visible.

yep much easier to deal with in graph mode…thats why I really like my di helix 5, if I have interference on the 200khz beam I just switch over to 455khz. I supposed you can do that with the 83/200khz models as well but that 60* 83khz beam is way wide. That said, I’ll still be getting a g2 chirp next season to play with – they’re just too cool to not have one.
