Hummingbird G3N Networking Question

I was thinking of getting two Hummingbird Helix 7 units eventually and start with one for now. I see if I get the G3N units I can network them together and use one transducer. I was thinking of getting a MSI for the console and DI for the bow. It seems like most people like to have SI at the console and DI at the bow. I currently only have GPS/sonar at the console but it just traces out my path and DI at the bow. My question is I know I can link the two together and have it run off the same transducer on the transom. Is there really any advantage to that besides for not having one on the trolling motor? I figure if there was one on the trolling motor the DI at the bow would see what’s below 17′ sooner, correct?

I have a Helix 12 SI at the bow, transducer mounted to the Ultera I would not have it any other way. As I jig and cast from the bow I use 2D, DI when Jigging and use SI to spot fish off to the sides that I can move over to run a jig or cast to them. I would never not have SI at the bow if you fish for Crappies it is the slickest thing to use while fishing and spotting schools.

Each unit will come with a transducer. I run a SI at the console and DI on the bow. I have an Ethernet and share waypoints. Personally I’d see no real benefit in sharing a transducer.
