Hummingbird 999ci HD SI – Which Lakemaster chip for iPilot

I just inherited a new to me Humminbird 999ci HD SI. I need to know which Lakemaster chip do I need to buy to make sure it runs the also new to me iPilot trolling motor I received.

Is this the correct item and also the newest version:

Is your Ipilot the Link version? If so in order to utilize the link features like follow the contour you need the lakemaster chip. If you only have the ipilot you can buy whatever map chip you want because it doesn’t talk with the minnkota. This means that you could buy the navionics chip which may have better maps of your lakes. The link you provided is the latest version of the standard lakemaster chip (V2.0). They also make a lakemaster Plus chip which adds satellite images to the maps. You will also want to shop around a bit for those cards because I got mine for 100 instead of the 125.

I have the link feature. Therefore, which is the correct chip to buy? I am not worried about the price at this point. Just want to make sure I am looking at the right chip.

With the Link feature you want to buy either the lakemaster version 2.0 (V.2) or the lakemaster plus Version 1.0 (V.1). The only difference between the two is the plus has satellite images overlaid on it so it costs a bit more. Both of these come as a micro SD card but they also come with the adapter to use them in a regular sized SD card slot. I run the standard lakemaster V.2 in mine with the link and haven’t had a problem.

Hold the phone for a minute! The version # is very relative to which area you want to target if you HAVE THE LINK! Your link to Cabela’s was for the SE states, and Ryan was saying ver#2, NO!

Be specific, which area are you targeting? It makes a difference!!

You have 3 separate updates to do, Bird, Remote and controller. Register all the units on the birds web site and choose very closely the right updates.

Ya sorry I assumed that he knew to get the one for the area that he will be fishing. The version 2.0 is just the latest version for each area.
