Last evening we were discussing some of the new technology. One was the Hummingbird 360. A individual I know in the industry shared with me to date not selling very well. True to his comments, see some videos on u-tube otherwise pretty quite thanks

I’ve been in a few boats with 360 and its awesome for what it can do. The biggest issue is the price point. After a guy invests in 1K, or 2.5K in electronics….then drop another $1500 on the 360 is tough. I would add a 360 to my boat today is it was a couple hundred dollar add on. But at $1500, I have other things to invest in
reddogPosts: 803December 28, 2015 at 4:56 pm #1587887I’d like to have it, but I’m stubborn about where I want it at. I want it on my terrova. I already have SI on my Terrova, and like it a lot. I’d like 360 up there better, but am willing to wait it out. Price is a point of contention also. I have a 1198 and an Onix 10 and would like to try a Helix 12 this year also.
mann4ducksPosts: 235January 11, 2016 at 9:45 am #1591429very interested in the 360. any thoughts on transom mount vs bow mount. I have a MX 2025 hit Lake Powell, UT hard and fish lakes in AR. the only thing about the transom for us is I have a kicker and a boarding ladder on the opposite side.
thanks for the inputBrianFPosts: 763January 11, 2016 at 10:54 am #1591460I’m using the Bow 360 on a Minn Kota Fortrex, connected to an HB Onix 10, in pursuit of crappie, bass, walleye, and musky. After using this technology, I wouldn’t want to be without. I feel the ability to see the structure, cover, and fish positioned 360 degrees around the boat is helping us catch what wouldn’t otherwise be caught. When the unit went down for a warranty claim and I had to fish without the 360 technology for a couple weeks, I felt that I had taken two big steps backwards. For me, the 360 technology is a must have.

January 11, 2016 at 11:46 am #1591494I think it would be an awesome tool for some situations. If it were a $500 addition and could connect to my terrova, I’d own one for sure. But at $1,500 and a special bracket mounted on my boat I’ll pass for now.
mann4ducksPosts: 235January 11, 2016 at 4:34 pm #1591616I have a fortex on the front also, right now I am running a 1199 at the helm with a 999 at the bow. just got another 1199 for Christmas from the wife, so I am debating what configuration to use it in?.. move the 999 to the helm with the existing 1199 and the new 1199 at the helm. is the 360 display better at the helm or the bow as a extra unit??? maybe I should run the extra 1199 along with the 999 at the helm and run the 360 on the 999 and down views on the 1199 split. looking for suggestions on a good configuration for these units. any help appreciated
BrianFPosts: 763January 11, 2016 at 10:20 pm #1591738David, talk about a nice problem to have… I can’t answer the question ’cause I don’t know how you fish. For me, the decision would be easy. My helm unit is used primarily for navigation, so my smaller, older Lowrance went there. My bow is the ‘work shop’ in my boat and that is where my living is made, so to speak. If I’m getting the best electronics that money can buy, that’s where the technology is going – to help me find and catch fish when in my ‘workshop’. So, the bow is where I’d put the biggest, most advanced units. However, keep in mind that my fishing style, regardless of the species I’m pursuing on a given day, is typical of a tournament basser. If you’re a troller or rigging live bait, the ideal configuration for you would be totally different.
Ryan HughesPosts: 176January 13, 2016 at 10:17 am #1592235For me I am a troller most days so the decision would be easy. I would have an 1199 at the helm and the bow and then move the 999 back to the helm so that you can be running sonar and navigation at the same time full screen while driving down the lake. For me I don’t have the 360 but would if it was a little cheaper. For now I just run a new helix 10 at the helm and a helix 9 in the bow all networked together and into the ipilot link on my terrova. For me this is a great set up.
