I bought a new Humminbird 1199 this spring and put the new transducer on the boat in the same place as my old one. It will read sonar but not side imaging or down imaging. I thought the Y cable was bad and finally got a new one. Hooked it up and still nothing. I directly connected it to the unit and still nothing. I checked for updates and that was good. I restored defaults and still blank on both. Any suggestions?
What was the old unit and transducer?
It was an 1197 with HDSI transducer.
Did you go into Sonar setup and choose the right transducer?
I did.
Seems to me it has to be either the transducer or the head unit. If you have the old transducer from the 1197, try that. If you have the 1197 unit, try that with the new transducer. Other than that, call Humminbird and send it back under warranty. Good luck.
What about pulling the Y cable. Just run that new SI transducer directly to the head unit.
My first guess was the transducer selection, but you covered that. I’m guessing a bad transducer, hence the suggestion to isolate that.
