I just tried to turn my humminbird 999ci on but the humminbird logo will not leave when starting up. I tried it on the bow plug as well and still does not turn on right (bow 999ci works still). Any ideas?

Power button also does not turn the unit off.

Try holding the power button in until it reboots.

When this happens with mine, I flip the accessories switch, which kills per to the unit. It usually loads up the second time.

They just don’t want you to forget what brand unit you purchased! ;)

This was one of many problems I had before I sent my unit in. I could get my unit to work by powering up with the map chip out and then loading the chip. If you buy a bird register the unit to get extended coverege and send the thing in if not working properly. I have heard the refurbished units are actually more reliable because they are checked twice before they are sold. Overall my service was good from HB but with everything you have to be the ‘squecky wheel’
    Good luck

It is definitely something with my lakemaster chip. If I remove the chip it works fine. And when i put that (bad) chip in another unit, it does the same thing.
