Does anyone ever hook their units up to a battery inside your house to look for spots on the Lakemaster chip? If so how do you go about wiring it up?

You bet, though I sold the wiring along with my other boat this spring so to do it again I’ll have to buy a new power cable. All I did was I had an extra power cable that had male end connectors on it. So I made 2 stubby writes with both ends female terminals, put a in line fuse on the positive one so I could attach to my ice flasher battery and then to the power cable. Then I could sit wherever I wanted in the house and cruise around on the map marking locations for the next summer.

Now that I sold the boat and extra power cable that went to the sonar on it, with a new cable you could just wire up the cable to attach to a portable battery, except you would still want a in line fuse.

I have a spare GPS module and power cord. Plugs into a 12V 12amh batteries I have and i place the GPS puck near the window. Works great

I guess I should have mentioned that the power cord is tied into a cigarette lighter so i can also plug it into the truck during ice fishing

Having the cigarette lighter adapter also lets me use my batteries as a multi-day back up power source for my phone and other devises
