humminbird ice 35 problems

second use of ice 35. always starts up in the demo mode and when it doesnt the gain does not seem to be able to be adjusted and answers to this. thanks

If I remember correctly if you don’t have a transducer connected OR the transducer is functioning incorrectly the unit will start in demo mode. Add in the fact that the gain adjustment doesn’t seem to do anything and I think all clues point to a shot transducer. If you have another angler in your group fishing a Humminbird flasher see if you can swap in their flasher to test to see if that fixes the issue.
