Humminbird Ice-35

New to humminbird …. picked me up an Ice-35 this weekend.

Curious as to why the transducer cable goes on the outside of the foam flotation device. and another cable with a clip that goes on top of the transducer goes through the actual foam flotation device?

On my Garmin there is just the transducer cable through the foam flotation ..

The xtra cable with the clip is supposed to support the weight of the transducer , when attached correctly the actual transducer cable will have a little slack in it . I have an ice 35, and a 55 , snd I haven’t used the foam for years. Gets to be too much stuff in the hole when fighting fish

So, do you just leave the cable wrapped around the base and let out enough just for the hole?

Yes , I just let enough out to get to the bottom of the hole
