Has anyone been able to try on of these out yet? I have a 597 on my council and a 998 on my dash and was looking at adding another sonar so I don’t have to split screen and have trouble seeing it from the back of the boat while trolling. I am assuming you cannot link them with my 998?

Otherwise I was going to be looking at an 859..

i have been checking them out a little. like the horizontal display as opposed to the vertical look of the 500/600/700 series and tempting to get an SI/DI unit for $500
but now that the boat will be parked for a while, my focus has shifted to upgrading my ice flasher

saw this review on sonar wars, which gave the helix a 9.0 rating out of 10…
Pros >> Bright, high resolution display. Side/Down Imaging capabilities at attractive prices.
Cons >> Non-networkable. Compact SI transducer vs HD SI transducer (although it may be eligible for the transducer trade-in program).
Bottom Line >> Based on the prices, and initial information about the high resolution display, the Helix 5 has the potential to be a very popular series. Keep an eye out here for more information as the entire series rolls out.

I just bought a new flasher. I have the Ice 55 and like it a lot but tried my friends lowrance and really like the history display for jigging walleyes so I bought the elite 5 chirp and am very happy with that other then the battery life. I get a few trips out of my ice 55 before having to charge it and I only get about 8 hours out of the lowrance charge.
