Does anyone else use this app? I’ve been trying to purchase a new lake in my area and is not allowing me, for some reason. I used to be able to swipe up on the lake and the price would be at the bottom. Doesn’t allow me to do that anymore.

They have discontinued the app. All lakes that you currently have still work, but you can’t add new maps. They are replacing it with something called the One-Boat Network app. Always changing and having to buy something new. Ticked me and a lot of people off. The One-Boat app is not out yet, so not sure how it will work.

I noticed that to just the other day. To me, the Fishsmart app left a lot to be desired anyway. It was nice to be able to purchase individual lakes that you may not have on a chip, but the process to download onto an individual SD card to use in your unit was pretty clunky. As far as I know, you could only have one lake per card. Didn’t like the fact they took away the ability to update units via bluetooth either. I sure wish they’d come up with something that would capitalize on the bluetooth capability on the networking graphs for updates, sharing maps, sharing waypoints, etc.

@Joe Jarl – I assume that is what this new One-Boat Network App will do. I only used the fish smart app for the few local lakes I ice fish. Was nice to just use the phone instead of carrying the summer unit around in the winter time.

The One-Boat App is now available! I was able to use my login from the Fishsmart app to get in. Now to see what it’s all about.

Just loaded the new One-Boat Network app – looks like it won’t let you use those individual lake maps that have been bought in the past. Read something that said you have a year to download the map to a SD card. You now have to pay a $25 subscription fee for access to the VX charts of USA and Canada lakes. If that $25 allows download and use of any lake anywhere, seems like a reasonable deal.

I purchased a new VX Lakemaster card and in the box was a code for a year free premium subscription of the new app.

The subscription does not appear to allow download of maps to a chip. You would just have all the VX lakes on your mobile device. For now, the Fishsmart app still works so any maps you purchased there can still be used. I think it’s still too early to tell how well this new app is going to work. I can’t find a user guide that would explain all of this either.

A buddy just downloaded it and has been downloading the map areas. Takes a while and will definitely want to have the area/lake downloaded before you get there so you are not trying to do it with data instead of wifi. Questions I haven’t been able to answer, is if you just have the regular maps on your head unit with way points, will those waypoints show up on the VX maps that you download to your phone when you blue tooth this all together or vice versa? If anybody has any insight that would be great. I would hope that’s what “one boat network” means!
