After more research we have decided to put this unit on the console. Thinking about a Helix 5 sonar gps on trolling motor. I have and autopilot up front and spend most of my time up front. Any suggestions or ideas? Which chips to purchase? Lakemaster or Navonics?

Will you ever want to mark waypoints on one and have it show on the other? I’m not sure a Helix and an 800 series will network.
Two years ago I picked up a 597ci hd di. At the time I thought, I’ll never network anything why would I spend the money? Fast forward to last week when a 999ci hd si shows up on my doorstep. Now since I can’t share waypoints or map chips I’m contemplating different ideas. Like, gee maybe I should have gotten the network capable out of the gate.
As for chip, I see your from South Dakota. I don’t have personal experience but common wisdom is Lakemaster for your neighborhood.
