It should have dual sd card slots. I use one for the map card and the other to record snap shots or other data and store waypoints. Any sd card will work. However, capacity is 32 gb I believe. There are different class of cards. Better class of card means better speed. Although I cannot remember if higher class means faster. You can look online for info about sd cards.

Like said above, get a lakemaster lake map card and stick it in one of the slots.

Take a 2-4GB card and stick it in the other.
This will store your waypoints with screencaptures.

Unless you plan on recording and making your own sonar charts, 2GB is plenty. I can personally tell you that if you get over 1,000-1,500 waypoints with screencaptures on your unit – it will get pretty doggy.
I’ve since gone to wiping my waypoints each year and like not having last years hot spots as a distraction to finding new hot spots.

I never remove my hot spots.
    I use an 8GB card
    But
it is not doggy as I use a 95 Mbs high speed card.

Yep, i used the fastest card too. This was on an 898 mind you. It’s would bog it down big time.
My 1199’s processor is crazy fast compared. Might be able to stack thousands of waypoints with screencaptures.
