I am looking into purchasing a used transom mount 360.
I plan to connect the 360 to my Ethernet Hub and on through to my 899/859/I-pilot Link.
It appears to be missing the AS GPS HS (GPS/Heading Sensor).
For those of you that have one, is that a smart move or is the 360 a very expensive toy.
Can’t speak for the transom mounted version, but I’ve had the 360 on my bow for over two years now. Wouldn’t ever want to fish without it now that I’ve seen the tremendous benefits.
Btw, they just recently made the 360 compatible with Minn Kota’s electric steer trolling motors…which kinda makes me sad because I bought a cable drive TM just to put the 360 on my bow. My advantage will be disappearing as electric steer TM guys clue-in to the value of this technology.
Only downside is that the unit will suck a lot of juice from the starting battery, particularly when paired with larger Humminbird gps/sonar units like I have installed.

Do you know if it will function properly without the external GPS puck? The GPS information would be coming from the built in GPS from the sonar unit.
